We can do anything- any critique welcomed
#1
So our band laid down a groovy track and it dandy have lyrics. I wrote this in 10 minutes and it needs a lot of work.

It's a funky groovy feel to it but all I could sing was We can do Anything, Anything in Christ who gives us strength...

any comments are welcome and appreciated. Again, only written in 10 minutes so I apologize if it doesn't make much sense.

V1
Peter walked on the water
Eyes focused on the Prize
Willing to risk everything
To be at Jesus side
Fear can paralyze you
Stop you in your tracks
Make you second guess yourself
Or even turn your back

Pre Chorus
Keep your eyes on Jesus
Tell fear to step aside
Because…

Chorus
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can face anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can tell a mountain to move
Or the wind to stop howling
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
Got tossed into the flames
Willing to risk everything
Rather than denounce their living god
Fear can paralyze you
Stop you in your tracks
Make you second guess yourself
Or even turn your back

Pre Chorus
Keep your eyes on Jesus
Tell fear to step aside
Because…

Chorus
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can face anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can tell a mountain to move
Or the wind to stop howling
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength

Bridge
Take a tip from Peter
Or the message from the three
They were focused on Jesus
And he supplied all their needs
He kept Peter from sinking
He saved the 3 from burning
Tell fear to take a hike….
Because

Chorus
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can face anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength
We can tell a mountain to move
Or the wind to stop howling
We can do anything, anything
In Christ who gives us strength

Is there a way for us to hear just the music? I don't have experience posting over tracks, but I'm sure someone hear does, just to give you an idea of how it might sound. Thanks for posting, I feel ready for anything!

shannon,

I don't have the track available. It was the band messing around with chord changes. I have a recording but not permission to post it yet.

I'm I think I'm going to cast this weekly challenge right on the main forum just repeating what I shared in another post because I think it could take ya a step deeper.
What if you did not tell us about Peters fear but helped us experience it first hand.  What does that experience look like, sound like, taste like, feel like?  Put us in that moment!!!
What does it feel lie to have Jesus rescue us.  Put us in that moment.
What do you think?

Called to, "Teach the word of the Lord; sing it to the nations loud and clear."

I like that idea. Again very rough draft on this one.

Literally 10 minutes.

The bridge comes awfully close to repeating the theme of the song. Every line is valuable real estate so I would use it to "go somewhere else". Maybe define some other "anythings". Spiritual ones.
